Witness & Wonder: the writer’s work
April 7 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm$49 - $70
The writer’s role has always been as witness—to the world as it is and the way it might be. This class at the Loft Literary Center uses guided writing exercises to sharpen our writer’s eye, enliven our words, and end writer’s block while experiencing writing as a spiritual practice and a tool for social action. We’ll consider the responsibility and the challenges writers face as honest witnesses to our own times—to the world’s beauty and its brokenness, to its possibilities as well as its realities.
With poetry, stories, small objects, and visual images, we’ll practice bringing attention and imagination to our role as witnesses. For writers at all levels of experience working in any genre, this is a class that can shake loose new writing projects or bring new creative energy and insights to projects already in progress. Advance registration required. Register through the Loft Literary Center.
