She/He/They/We: understanding gender

February 18 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm

FREE

With the unfolding conversations and awareness around gender identity and diversity, how do we understand what it means to be “us” in ways that welcome and open the fullness of all our gender identities and possibilities? Karen Hering and her son, Catherine Charles Hammond, will together offer this 10:30 a.m. service of words and song as an exploration of gender. After the service, Catherine Charles will lead a lively and informative afternoon workshop, from 12-2pm: Gender 101: Fostering Justice, Equity, and Compassion for All Genders. The workshop will start with basics and cover vital knowledge for understanding gender diversity along with “dos and don’ts” in helping to build a safe, equitable world for people of all genders. No R.S.V.P. required. If you’ve been wanting to deepen your understanding of gender, please join us, morning, afternoon or both! (Note: the same service and workshop will be offered at another nearby church the following week.)
