June 18, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

With the unfolding conversations and awareness around gender identity and diversity, how do we understand what it means to be “us” in ways that welcome and open the fullness of all our gender identities and possibilities? This worship service (at 10 a.m.) on the theme of gender will be co-led by Karen Hering and Catherine Charles Hammond. Following the service, Catherine Charles will lead a free workshop on gender identity, Gender 101: Fostering Justice, Equity, and Compassion for All Genders.” The workshop (at 11:30 a.m.) will start with the basics and cover the terminology, concepts, and practices that are integral to today’s rapidly evolving queer and trans movements. All are welcome to attend—from total novices to budding gender theorists—and will come away with a solid foundation of skills and knowledge to participate in the building of a safe, equitable world for people of all genders.
