Crossing and Blessing Our Thresholds: a 4-part series
January 19 - March 9Registration now closed.
Every year brings changes, but sometimes the changes are larger and more challenging than others. If you are crossing a significant threshold in your life – a change in relationship, work, home, roles, identity or abilities – this four-part Threshold series offers a facilitated group experience for exploring personal thresholds, chosen or unbidden.
In a supportive small group led by Karen Hering, participants will reflect on a current threshold in their lives while accompanying others in crossing their thresholds. Using conversation, guided writing, and a variety of non-writing activities both playful and serious, we’ll consider the meaning, risks and possibilities present on the cusp of change.
The Threshold series “provided me with companions and compatriots, and well-timed doses of inspiration in a time of need,” said one participant in a previous group. “ We all go through challenging transitions but we don’t have to do it alone. The Thresholds experience was clarifying and good for the soul!”
The group meets four Saturdays mid-January – mid-March; participants must commit to all four sessions. (Additional optional gatherings will be scheduled in between sessions as invitations to explore participants’ thresholds with creative projects.) Following the series, the group will be blessed by the congregation in worship, honoring the role of community in giving us all safe passage across the many thresholds of our lives.
The 2019 series is now full. Watch for future offerings.
